Hey, I’m Saad.

My first camera came from my grandmother, an Olympus film camera I asked for when I was 12 or 13. I was so curious how it worked that I took it apart, and that was the end of that camera. I’ve always been that kid. I turned broken toy cars into boats that ran on water, built a mini amusement-park ride from RC motors, and opened up every iPod and iPhone that came my way.

Learning frame by frame

That curiosity became photography. In 2017, I started with a Samsung S6 Edge Plus, shooting close-ups and then portraits of my classmates and friends. I saved up for a 50mm lens, borrowed a friend’s camera to use it, and once I knew I was in love, I bought the camera myself, a basic Canon 1300D. For five years, that camera and that one lens were all I shot with, and they taught me to really see. Nine years and a lot of upgrades later, I still shoot with the same curiosity.

Newfoundland became home

In 2022, I travelled to Newfoundland to study business administration at Memorial University. I came for school and found a place that keeps handing me new light: the coastline, the colours, and skies that change by the hour. Exploring this province and meeting new people has given me some of my most unique memories, and it’s a big part of why I love photographing people here. Every person I meet brings a perspective I’ve never seen before, and that’s the best part of my job.

One belief has stayed with me: everyone sees the world differently. Even if a hundred people share the same moment, no one lives it the same way.

That’s why I photograph every moment from my own perspective, and why I want you to feel safe and comfortable in front of my lens. No stiff posing, no pressure. We talk, we laugh, we move naturally, and the photos come out relaxed, candid, and quietly cinematic.

My style is warm, editorial, and dreamy: light and airy, with soft glowing tones. I’m a St. John’s photographer focused on portraits, weddings, and events. I also shoot branding sessions, birthdays, and any occasion worth remembering.
