Event Photography Checklist for St. John's Hosts
A practical checklist for planning event photography around people, timing, details, access and the moments that matter.
Good event photographs come from understanding the event before arriving. A short planning conversation helps the coverage feel intentional instead of like a list of random images.
Share the shape of the event
Include the date, setting, schedule, expected guest flow, important people, key details and any moments that cannot be missed. It is also useful to share access, parking, lighting and contact information for the day.
Make a short priority list
Think about guests, speakers, performances, decorations, sponsors, behind-the-scenes work, group photographs and candid interactions. A priority list gives the photographer a reference without requiring every moment to be staged.
Plan for movement and light
Events change quickly. Talk through where people will gather, how the photographer can move respectfully, and which parts may need additional light or a quieter position.
Choose coverage that fits
The right amount of coverage depends on the schedule and the story you want documented. Explore the event photography page, review the pricing information, and send the event details.
